Offensive woes spell doom for Barton women, fall 61-37 at Butler

For the second straight game the Barton Community College women’s basketball team dug a hole it couldn’t get out of as Butler Community College provided the shovel in a 61-37 loss at the Power Plant Saturday afternoon in El Dorado, Kansas. The Lady Cougars’ shooting woes and turnovers mounted allowing Butler to build a sixteen point first half lead going on to hold Barton to its fourth lowest output in school history. The loss drops Barton to 1-2 in Jayhawk play and 11-4 overall while Butler improves to 2-1 and 12-4 overall. Barton will have the next two games at the Barton Gym beginning with Seward County Community College on Monday followed by a Wednesday contest against No. 2 ranked Hutchinson Community College. Tip-off for both conference games scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
