Lady Cougars take out frustrations on Colby, score 47 first half points to cruise to 85-55 win

Unleashing some fury after back-to-back frustrating losses, the Barton Community College women’s basketball team racked up forty-seven first half points in cruising to a 85-55 victory over Colby Community College at the Barton Gym Saturday night. The Lady Cougars shot 50% in the first half and limited the Lady Trojans to only 25% shooting to build a twenty-four point halftime lead. With the win Barton improves to 6-5 in conference play and 18-9 while keeping Colby winless in the league at 0-11 and dropping to 2-25. The Lady Cougars will begin their toughest two game stretch of the season taking on two nationally ranked teams on the road. Barton travels to No. 10 Seward County Community College on Wednesday then plays No. 3 ranked Hutchinson Community College next Saturday. Game time for Wednesday in Liberal, Kansas, against the Lady Saints is set for 6:00 p.m.
