Lady Cougars maul Neosho in 94-65 road win, Brantner with career assist night

Rebounding from their first loss of the season, the Barton Community College women's basketball team defeated the host Neosho County Community College Panthers 94-65 Saturday night to wrap up play in the Neosho Hoops Classic.  The Lady Cougars led by ten at the break extending the lead to thirty-five in the second half to improve to 7-1 on the season and drop Neosho to 3-4.  Barton will have a break in their schedule until Tuesday November 26 in hosting Tabor College junior varsity in a 5:30 p.m. tip off at the Barton Gym.  

A night from having a career performance, Cheyenne Hedrington led the Lady Cougars for the second straight night scoring 18 points while also grabbing seven rebounds. Taylor Mayes matched a career high fourteen points and also grabbed eight rebounds while Brandy Winbush came off the bench to also add fourteen in part to 4-of-10 shooting from beyond the arc.  Phikala Anthony also came off the bench scoring in double figures dropping thirteen while Mariana Lambert nearly recorded her first double-double scoring ten points and grabbing a team high nine rebounds.  Kailai Brantner had one of her best nights leading the Lady Cougar offense scoring eight points and dishing out a career high eleven assists against only three turnovers.  Sharyce Warren wrecked havoc on the Panthers all night with four steals and grabbing five rebounds while contributing six points.

Danielle Randle led four Neosho players in double figures with twenty points and getting a double-double with eleven rebounds.  Danel Stithem had fifteen points with Ashyley Grant getting thirteen and Jaycee Fourkiller coming off the bench with ten.
