Lady Cougars end regular season with road loss at Cloud
The Barton Community College women’s basketball team wrapped up its regular season Wednesday with a 52-38 loss to Cloud County Community College in Concordia. Barton drops to 3-13 to finish seventh in conference and 13-16 overall while Cloud finishes the regular season fourth in the conference at 10-6 and 20-10 overall. The Lady Cougars will begin the Region VI playoffs on the road as they will travel to Independence Community College on Saturday for a 2:00 p.m. contest.
Freshman Ashton Bruner was the only Lady Cougar in double digit scoring with twelve points to go along with five rebounds. Sophomore Blair Bloomfield led in rebounding with six while freshman Kailai Brantner led the team is assist with three. Sophomore Erin Copeland led Barton in steals with four while also dishing out two assists.
Jordyn Alexander led two Cloud players in double digits with twelve points while Pearlrae Thomas scored ten. Kamika Mason led the 58-40 Cloud rebound advantage with nine as the Lady Thunderbirds grabbed twenty-six offensive rebounds leading to a 21-0 second chance point advantage. Aleesha Coulter led Cloud in both assists and steals dishing out three and stealing three.
