Lady Cougar sophomores close out home career with victory
Playing their last game on their home court, the sophomore members of the Barton Community College women’s basketball team combined for thirty-nine points in leading the Lady Cougars to a 64-60 win over Pratt Community College Saturday at the Barton Gym. Snapping a seven game skid, Barton improves to 3-11 in conference play and 13-14 overall while Pratt drops to 4-10 and 15-13 overall. Game time for Sunday’s contest is 3:00pm at the Colby Community Building.
Sophomore Blair Bloomfield led three Lady Cougars in double-digit scoring with fifteen to reach double figures for the eighth time in the past nine contests. Sophomore Tashell Phillips scored ten while freshman Ashton Bruner nearly had a double-double with her ten point nine rebound performance. Sophomore Erin Copeland had her eleven game double-figure streak come to an end scoring seven points but led the Lady Cougars with four assists and four steals.
Hayli Jo Smith scored twenty points to lead three Lady Beavers in double-digit scoring with Tatiana Grant and Kelsey Strobel each scoring ten apiece.
