Buchanan latest in-state signee for Barton women’s basketball
Brianna Buchanan joined 5 other in-state signees for the Barton County Community College women’s basketball, signing a letter-of-intent to play basketball for the Cougars next season. Buchanan comes to Barton from Junction City High School, where she was named the team MVP the past two seasons. She is the 7th overall signee for new coach Lane Lord.

Brianna Buchanan joined 5 other in-state signees for the Barton County Community College women's basketball, signing a letter-of-intent to play basketball for the Cougars next season. Buchanan comes to Barton from Junction City High School, where she was named the team MVP the past two seasons. She is the 7th overall signee for new coach Lane Lord.
Buchanan led Junction City in scoring, rebounding, steals, and assists from her guard/forward spot with the Blue Jays. Look for her to play the 2- or 3-guard spot for the Cougars. She scored more than 17 points a contest her senior season to earn her Honorable Mention All-Class 6A honors as well as being selected 1st team All I-70 League. Those were identical honors she garnered her junior season at Junction City, scoring 14 points a contest. She was a 4-year starter for the Blue Jays.
In addition to playing high school basketball for Junction City, Buchanan played AAU basketball in the summer, qualifying for the National Tournament the past years in Detroit and Orlando. She carries a 3.5 GPA in high school and has received academic awards all four years at the school.

Brianna is an outstanding addition to the Cougar Basketball team. Bri was a four-year starter at Junction City High School where she lead her team in scoring, rebounding, assist, and steals. Brianna will provide instant offense for the Cougars at the two or three guard positions. Brianna is a very athletic guard who has outstanding 3-point shooting range as well as the ability to put the ball on the floor and create her own shot. Brianna will flourish in a transition game as she is a pure scorer. Look for Brianna to be an immediate impact player for the Cougars
