Barton women fall to Dodge City

            Things aren't getting any easier for the Barton County women's basketball team as they fell to 0-3 in Jayhawk Conference play after losing to Dodge City, 70-63, Monday night in Great Bend. The loss drops the Cougars to 5-12 overall. Dodge City is now 12-5 and 1-2.

Highlights

            The see-saw contest saw Dodge City pull ahead late in the first half, then fight off Barton for the 70-63 win. Shawna Dvorak scored 21 points and Jerae Whitney added 18 for the Conquistadors. Barton was led by Jenny Brown with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Lesley-Ann Minnis added 11 and Lisa Jeffrey 10.

Next Up

            The Cougars are back on the road Wednesday for their fourth game in eight days as they travel to Garden City to take on the 13-3 Broncbusters.
