Barton Softball continues to roll with sweep at Pratt.
The Barton Community College softball team picked up its fifth straight conference sweep on Saturday winning 13-1 in six innings and 11-6 at Pratt Community College.
Barton improves to 10-0 in conference play and 15-5 on the season while dropping Pratt to 2-10 in league and 5-17 overall.
The Cougars begin a three-date homestand on Monday hosting Neosho County Community College before returning to conference play on Thursday versus Fort Hays Tech Northwest, a contest moved back a day escaping Wednesday's forecasted bad weather. The homestand will then wrap up on Saturday in Barton's biggest test to date in an early key conference race twinbill welcoming 14th ranked Butler Community College. Elina Bartlett's 7-of-8 performance at the dish including her second home run of the season and 7 runs batted in led the Cougars' 33 hits on the day.
Also going long ball were the squad's leaders in Chloe Enslinger's 8th of the year during her 5-of-9 with 3RBI day with Peyton McCormick batting .500 including her 6th fence clearer of the day to also drive in three runs.
Meleia Ingram picked up the game one victory improving to 8-2 on the year throwing a 4-strikeout 2-hitter in five innings of work with Brooklynn Angielski getting the nightcap win improving to 6-2 in the circle. Aubrey Pate and Alicia Goseland each worked a frame of relief.
