Jessica Morgan of the Barton Community College softball team has been named the week three KJCCC Division I Co-Pitcher of the Week, sharing the honor with K'lee Flores of Dodge City Community College.

Morgan got stronger as the week wore on picking up a pair of neutral field victories in Texas. Shaking off a rough home start with the wind blowing out, Morgan bounced back with a complete game six strikeout Friday victory versus Rose State College in Weatherford, Texas. In Saturday morning's matchup with Division II 15th ranked Cowley College, Morgan entered in the fourth frame to strikeout the final out stranding a pair of runners in the then-tied contest, rolling on to only give up one hit and strikeout three more against the Tigers in the remaining three innings.

Most recently Morgan picked up another victory in Tuesday's home contest versus Bethany College JV in striking out a season high eight improving to 3-2 on the season.

Concluding the pre-conference slate at 5-6 on the season, Barton begins conference play Saturday in a 1:00 p.m. twinbill at Garden City Community College. The Cougars will then host their first conference games of the season on Wednesday, March 1, against Seward County Community College.
