Barton Softball results at Seward County

The Barton Community College softball team split a pair of games Saturday afternoon on the road at Seward Community College.

The Cougars ran away in the opener with a 15-1 route laying its' six game losing streak to rest. Plating a season high in runs, Barton accounted for 10 hits in the victory with sophomore Brooke McCollough swinging the hot bat with a 3-for-4 performance.

Kayli Dryden and Teegan Krol accounted for homeruns in the victory.

Playing from behind throughout game two, the late attempt of a comeback fell just short as the Cougars dropped the nightcap 6-5.

Krol and Madison Faylor directed the Barton offense each smashing a homerun to go along with 3-for-4 outings at the plate.

The Cougars move to 1-5 in conference play and 5-15 on the season while the Saints now sit at 3-3 in league play and 4-8 overall.

Barton will continue the road trip on Saturday with a matchup against the Broncbusters of Garden City. First pitch of the doubleheader scheduled for 1:00 p.m. start time from the Tangeman Sports Complex.
