Ashlee Lucero of the Barton Community College softball team has been named the week four KJCCC Division I Pitcher of the Week.

Lucero struck out a career second-best eleven strikeouts in Barton's season opening 2-0 eighth inning loss against Neosho County Community College. Despite taking the extra frame of work, Lucero kept the Cougars in the game pitching the complete game allowing no earned runs while scattering just three hits

The Cougars are currently on a four-day, eight game road swing south to Texas and Oklahoma before returning home Tuesday, March 2, hosting Central Christian College. Barton begins its highway burning with a Texas two-step on today at Cisco, Texas, with a swing to Vernon on Thursday before starting its move back home with Friday and Saturday contests in Weatherford, Oklahoma, against Odessa College and Western Oklahoma State University.
