The Barton Community College softball team dropped a trio of games over the weekend in the Cisco College Tournament held in Cisco, Texas.

Now 2-3 on the season, Barton was scheduled for a Friday and Saturday four-pack of games against North Arkansas College, but forecasted weather has caused the early cancellation of the trip to Harrison, Arkansas. Barring any additional schedule alterations, Barton's next games will come Tuesday, February 19, in a twinbill at Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa in Tonkawa, Oklahoma.

A pair of big innings spelled doom for the Cougars in Friday's first game, falling 10-4 to Western Oklahoma State College. Barton took on El Paso Community College next, with the Cougars on top of an 18-12 shootout through three innings but no lights on the field prevented the game from being completed and therefore wiped off the schedule.

On Saturday Barton tied up host Cisco College in the second inning as Brooke McCollough connected on not only her first, but the Cougars' first homerun of the season, launching a 2-2 pitch to left field. The Wranglers answered with three in the home half, tacking on another four in the third inning, before plating three in the sixth to put away the Cougars 12-4.

The final game of the weekend matched against Clarendon College with the Bulldogs batting first, plating a trio of runs in the first and third inning before clinching the 12-3 win with another three run inning.

Barton had its chances to score but couldn't come through with the big hit in stranding twenty-five runners over the weekend.

Betsy Parmley led the Cougars' eighteen hits going 4-of-7 with a double and three RBI. Alexis Sharples and Nasadiya Salazar each drove in a pair of runs with Sharples going 3-of-6 in the three games and Salazar collecting a pair of singles.
