Barton Softball blasts Pratt, Reynolds drives in ten runs in doubleheader sweep #GoBarton

The Barton Community College softball team took to the road for the first time in conference play, earning a pair of game shortened victories 11-2 and 20-6 to complete the sweep at Pratt Community College. Barton improves to 4-0 in Jayhawk conference play and 5-9 on the season while Pratt drops to 0-6 in conference play and 3-23 overall. The Cougars step out of conference play on Sunday in hosting the junior varsity of Kansas Wesleyan University in a 1:00 p.m. first pitch before Wednesday's return to Jayhawk play with a trip to Colby Community College.

Driving in seven run in the Cougars' conference opening sweep of Dodge City, sophomore Andreana Reynolds continued to bang in the runs accounting for ten of Barton's thirty-one runs on the day. Two came in the first game with eight coming in the nightcap as the Millwood High School product launched a pair of three-run home runs, the first giving Barton an 8-1 second inning lead with the other coming in the fourth exploding the lead out to 18-2.

Also connecting on a three-run long ball, Hailey Pop belted her second of the Canadian freshman's season, a 2-out fifth inning bomb to center field giving Barton a then 9-1 game one lead. Also like Reynolds, Pop would connect on a double in game two finishing the two game series 5-of-6 with five runs batted in.

Emma Horsch earned the game one win striking out six improving to 2-5 on the season while going 5-for-9 from the plate including a third inning double helping her cause for a 3-0 lead. Allison Panning picked up the game two victory striking out three to improve to 3-3 on the year.

The Cougars pounded out thirty-two hits in the doubleheader while Pratt finished with fourteen.
