Having a doubleheader and weekend tournament cancelled due to weather, the Barton Community College softball team's search for a pair of games turned up with a Sunday trip to Ponca City, Oklahoma. Unfortunately for the Cougars the doubleheader resulted in a couple of losses to NOC-Tonkawa in dropping a 4-1 opener and 10-2 nightcap. Now 0-6 on the season, Barton will open up conference play on Wednesday hosting top ranked and defending national champion Butler Community College in a 2:00 p.m. first pitch doubleheader.

Despite out hitting the Mavericks 6-4, Barton could only must the one run in the opener as Kat Frakes' sixth inning leadoff double followed by Andreanna Reynold's single would score on Morgan Michaelis' sac fly.

NOC-Tonkawa plated two in the third getting a two-out single followed a homerun, then tacked on another two in the fifth stringing a walk and single together before scoring on a one-out double.

In game two it was all Mavericks, scoring multiple runs in the first four frames to end the doubleheader with the fifth inning run-rule as NOC-Tonkawa outhit the Cougars 10-4.

Frakes was solid at the plate on the day banging out five hits in her six appearances including the game one sixth inning double. Freshman Jaila Jordan was the only other Cougar with multiple hits in the doubleheader going 2-of-4 with both hits coming in the opener.
