The Barton Community College softball team swept the conference weekly honors for the third straight week and the fourth time this season as Holly Posegate and Madison Didion were named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week.  The duo's performances helped the Cougars to a sweep of conference opponents last week improving to 5-1 in conference play and 28-2 on the season.  Barton will step out of conference play for its next three dates on the schedule beginning with a 5:00 p.m. doubleheader Monday at McPherson College.  The Cougars will then have a quick turnaround hosting Williston State College in a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader Tuesday at Cougar Field before welcoming spring break returning to the field on Monday, March 21. 

Posegate batted .615 with a 1.077 slugging percentage driving in at least one run in each of the Cougars four games last week.  Getting the game winning RBI in the first game against Seward County Community College on Wednesday, Posegate went 8-of-11 in her next at-bats including belting two home runs and driving in an additional ten runs.   Going 4-of-4 with six RBIs to cap Barton's ninth straight victory in sweeping Dodge City, the Loveland, Colorado, sophomore was also solid in the circle scattering five hits and striking out four notching her second win of the week improving to 12-1 on the season.

Didion had another solid week in the circle with twenty-one strikeouts in 15.2 innings of work helping Barton to three of the four victories.   Beginning the week with six strikeouts in picking up the win in game one against Seward County, Didion returned the next game in relief to strike out another protecting Barton's sweep over the Saints.   The Montesano, Washington, freshman then capped her week striking out the first seven and 8-of-9 batters through the first three innings finishing with fourteen strikeouts earning the shutout victory at Dodge City.   Improving to 15-1 on the season, Didion ranks amongst the nation's leading pitchers helping Barton to a 28-2 start to the season.
