Four Barton Community College softball players were recently named to the KJCCC Division I All-Conference Team.  Sophomore Emilia Davies led three Barton freshmen to the list being named first team at the utility position while also being submitted for NJCAA All-American consideration.  Great Bend's Stephanie Morrison at third base was joined by second baseman Bailey Hensley and right fielder Erica Harper in garnering second team honors.  The awards come as the Lady Cougars wrapped up its season under first-year Head Coach Marc Benjamin at 21-24 after reaching the Region VI final three for the second straight season. 

Emilia Davies
In the starting lineup for all eighty-six games of her Barton career, the versatile Davies batted .429 this season finishing in the top three in most offensive categories for the Lady Cougars.  The Parker, Colorado, native led or was tied for the team lead in hits (67), doubles (25), triples (4), total bases (121), and runs scored (53).  Recently signing with NCAA Division I University of Massachusetts Lowell, Davies' performances also placed among the NJCAA rankings finishing 3rd in doubles and 44th in triples to rank 20th in the nation for extra base hits.

Erica Harper
Freshman Erica Harper emerged this season as a constant threat in the middle of the lineup while a solid defender in the outfield.  Like Davies, Harper was amongst the top three in most offensive categories leading the Lady Cougars in batting average (.475), slugging percentage (.863), on base percentage (.507), runs batted in (47), and home runs (7).  A graduate of Topeka Seaman High School in Topeka, Kansas, Harper also ranked high in the NJCAA statistics at 15th in doubles, 20th in batting average, 21st in slugging percentage, and 46th in on base percentage.  In the outfield Harper also excelled ranking second on the team with a .970 fielding percentage committing only two errors all season. 

Bailey Hensley
The freshman from Ellis, Kansas, kick started the Lady Cougars at the top of the lineup throughout the season batting .361 with a .463 on base percentage while leading the team in walks at 17.  Splitting time early in the season at catcher, the versatile Hensley moved to second base proceeding to lead the team in fielding percentage at .974.

Stephanie Morrison
Like Hensley, Morrison made a defensive transition midway through the season moving from second base to her more accustomed third base fielding at a .908 clip.  A late season slide at the plate prevented the Great Bend, Kansas, native to bat over .300 in her first collegiate season finishing at .292 while leading the team in stolen bases (6) and coming in second in walks (13).
