Scoring thirty-four runs in two softball games will usually equate to a doubleheader sweep but for the Barton Community College softball team it simply meant a split as Pratt Community College rallied for a 16-15 win in game one while the Lady Cougars took out their fury in game two with a 18-0 victory in five innings. Barton pounded out thirty-seven hits in the doubleheader including seven home runs, two coming from freshman leadoff hitter Bailey Hensley. The Lady Cougars also got a strong pitching performance in game two as sophomore Ashlyn Osborne struck out five in limiting the Pratt bats to only two hits after getting fourteen in game one. The split moves Barton the 13-9 on the season while Pratt stands at 6-22. The Lady Cougars will hope to continue the hot bats on Sunday as Barton returns to conference action to take on No. 1 ranked Butler Community College. Barton, 2-4 in conference play, travels to El Dorado to take on the 16-3 Grizzlies who stand atop the Jayhawk standings at 2-0 in a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader at East Park.
