The Barton Community College softball team had its streak of winning eight straight games come to an abrupt end Sunday in Independence, Kansas.  Having dropped the first game of the doubleheader 11-0, the Lady Cougars bounced back with a slugfest 13-12 victory to split the two game series with Independence Community College.  Barton now stands at 9-3 on the season while Independence moved to 15-5 on the season.  The Lady Cougars open conference play on Wednesday hosting Colby Community College in a 2:00 p.m. doubleheader at Cougar Field.
