Humphrey joins teammate at Barton
The Barton County Community College softball team signed another Shawnee Heights softball player, adding Erin Humphrey to the roster for the upcoming season. Humphrey played 2nd base for Shawnee Heights the past 2 season, playing on a pair of state tournament teams. She joins Shawnee Heights teammate Grace Toelkes as a Cougars softballer next season.

This past season, Humphrey was selected as 2nd team All Centennial League and 2nd Team All City in Topeka after hitting .315 and posting a fielding percentage of .993 from her infield spot. The T-Birds posted an 18-4 record this past year, losing a tough 1-0 decision to Arkansas City in the opening round of the Class 5A state tournament. Ark City eventually won the title.

Her junior season, Humphrey helped her team to a 24-1 mark and a runner-up effort at the 5A state tournament. That's season Humphrey drove in 14 runs and selected as a 2nd Team All State Class 5A 2nd baseman. Humphrey was a 1st team All City pick that season and a 2nd Team All Centennial selection.

During the summer last season, Humphrey played for the Kansas Flames, which finished 7th in the USSSA Nationals. This season the Flames have won the Kansas State Championships and will compete at the National Tournament later in July.
