Leveque's runner-up finish highlights Barton Men's Cross Country at Ollie Isom Invitational #GoBarton

Theo Leveque led the Barton Community College men's Cross Country team in their final tune up before the postseason Friday morning at the Ollie Isom Invitational held in El Dorado, KS at the El Dorado Disc Golf Course.

Leveque paced the four pack of Cougars with a runner-up finish in the field of 57 participants featuring a majority of competitors from the KJCCC conference. Competing for the first time in 20 days, the freshman displayed a solid effort clocking a new personal best 25:48.51 shaving 21-seconds off his previous best stoppage of 26:09.68 that came at the ESU Invitational.

Fabian Campbell notched the second best finish for Barton earning a top-20 performance timing the 19th fastest time of 28:33.31.

Brandon Nguyen led the remaining freshman runners with a 32nd finish of 29:54.40 while Jarron King crossed the line eighth spots back in 40th at 31:28.20.

Barton's next action comes in the Region VI Cross Country Championships, which will be held Friday, October 28 at 10:00 a.m. from Fun Valley in Hutchinson, KS.
