Fellow second year cross country teammate Ethan Woodrome, like Reid competing in just his fourth cross country meet, highlighted the Barton results with a forty second personal best in clocking a 30:15.37 to place 70th overall.

Djordje Racic led Barton's pair of freshman in their first ever 8K race, crossing the finish line second on the team in 65th place with a 30:08.73 while Trent Padilla's 31:37.92 was good for 85th.

The Cougars next meet comes October 9 at the FHSU Tiger Open held at Victoria's Sand Plum Nature Trail. The women's 5K is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by the men's 8K race at 9:35 a.m.

Host Emporia State captured the men's title ahead of Fort Hays, placing four runners in the top ten while also winning the top individual giving the Hornets both the women and men individual titles for the first time in the 21st century.
