Barton men's cross country team concludes 2016 season at National Championships

Having just four healthy enough to compete on Saturday, the shorthanded Barton Community College men's cross country team completed its 2016 season competing in the NJCAA Division I National Championships held at the Prairie Trails Golf Course in El Dorado, Kansas.

Ignacio Calderon once again led the Cougars as he did two weeks ago at the Region VI Championships, placing 154th out of the 298 competitors in a 28:13.56 time.  Felix Marquez crossed next for the Cougars in the 238th slot at 30:07.16 as teammate Corban Ogle was four spots behind in 242nd at 30:26.22.  Lukas Tucker rounded out the Cougar entries stopping crossing in 31:50.55 to place 272nd.

The Barton women, also fighting late season nagging injuries, did not compete at the national championships.
