Barton men's cross country team finishes 38th at Chile Pepper Festival

The Barton Community College men's cross country team finished 38th out of forty-five teams this past Saturday at the 28th Annual Chile Pepper Festival held in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  

The freshmen duo of Samuel Hengeli and Ignacio Calderon led the Cougars in the near four hundred man field with a 156th and 163rd placing respectively.  Hengeli completed the 8k course in 27:14.01 while Calderon was just six seconds behind crossing the line in 27:20.06.

Corban Ogle was the third Cougar to finish coming in 237th in 29:00.14 while Felix Marquez was close behind in the 246th spot finishing in 29:14.59. Lukas Tucker rounded out the Cougar squad completing in 31:23.19 to place 276th. 

Barton's next competition will come this Saturday as the Cougars compete in the FHSU Tiger Open held at the Sand Plum Cross Country Course in Victoria, Kansas.
