Barton men's cross country team fourteenth at ESU's Papa John's Invite

The Barton Community College men's cross country team placed 14th Friday evening in the Papa John's Invitational hosted by Emporia State University.  Held at the Emporia Municipal Golf Course, the Cougars completed the 8k race in an average time of 29:25.80 with four Top-100 placers amongst a field of 150 runners from NJCAA, NAIA, and NCAA Division II levels.

For the second consecutive meet of his freshman season, Sam Hengeli led the Cougar team placing in 51st with a time of 27:57.60.  Corban Ogle placed second on the team crossing in 76th place in 29:02.07 while Felix Marquez' 29:30.29 was good for 92nd with Ignacio Calderon five spots behind in 97th with a time of 29:48.91.

Lukas Tucker placed in 119th place in 30:50.12 while Treavon Ware rounded out the Cougar entries with a 31:32.68 and eight spots behind in 127th. 

Barton will next travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas, for the Chile Pepper Festival held on Saturday, October 1.
