Freshmen lead Cougar distance runners at Tabor Invitational

The Barton Community College men's cross country team competed in their second meet of the  2012 season Saturday at the Tabor College Invitational Cross Country Meet.  Held at the Harvey County East Lake located in Newton, Kansas, the 8K invitational featured over seventy runners and six teams from the NCAA Division II level, NAIA, and junior colleges.   

Virginia freshmen Tyler Lumpkin and Josh Watson led three Cougars in their first collegiate meet.  Lumpkin placed 34th in a time of 29:22.87 while Watson finished 59th in a time of 32:59.67. Fellow freshman Skylar McLain finished in 60th place two-tenths of a second behind Watson in a time of 32:59.89.

The Cougars next meet will be October 6 as they travel to Hays for the Fort Hays State Tiger Open.
