Cougar distance runners open season at JK Gold Classic

The Barton Community College men's cross country team opened up the 2012 season Saturday at the 64th Annual J.K. Gold Classic.  Hosted by Wichita State University, more than 140 athletes participated in the 6K run at the RAFT Golf Course.  

Sophomore Tayron Reyes led only two Cougars running in the opening meet placing 105th in a time of 23:06.76 while Hugoton freshman Skylar McLain finished 121st in 24:33.50.

The Cougars next meet will be September 22 as they head to Newton for the Tabor College Invitational.
