Trent Edgerton is in his second season assisting the Barton Track and Field program with primary responsibilities ranging from the hurdle and jumps crew to sprinters and mid-distance athletes.

Earning the USTFCCCA National Men’s Assistant Coach of the year, Edgerton helped lead the Cougar men to a third straight runner-up indoor finish and a 4th place finish on the women’s side. Completing his first year in the Barton program, Edgerton’s primarily group of Cougars accounted for 53 of Barton’s 99.5 points including three individual national championships and a pair of National Field Athletes of the Year, Annia Ashley and Shakwon Coke.

Arriving to Barton from Texas A&M University, Edgerton spent the past three seasons as a volunteer assistant working with both the men’s & women’s sprints and hurdle athletes.

Graduating Howard University in 2014, Edgerton was an assistant for the Sports Information Department during his collegiate time before earning a degree in Sports Management with a minor in Economics.

A 2009 graduate from Archbishop John Carroll High School in Washington, D.C, Edgerton returned to his roots to lead Carroll for three seasons which included the sprint powerhouse’s 2016 New Balance national 4x100m relay title and 4x400m relay runner-up.
