Brandon Lloyd's program impact highlighted the Barton Community College men's track and field team performances on Saturday competing in the Jinx Invite hosted by Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas.
Lloyd had two of the Cougars' nine personal best efforts, bettering his national qualifying mark in the discus throw to a program 4th best 56.71m (186-01) mark. Lloyd's other personal best came in the hammer throw at 39.84m (130-08) as teammate took the tile on a personal best 47.81m (156-10) distance.
A trio of personal bests came in the 200m, Marcus Purcell leading the Cougars with a 3rd place 21.82 time, just ahead of Zander Von Stade's 4th place 21.90, and Andrew Ferguson coming in 9th at 22.14.
Other leaders for the Cougars were Andrew Ferguson's 100m 11.07 time to place 5th ahead of Purcell's 11.08, Jesus Sanchez' personal best 2:02.87 9th place 800m time, and Dorde Racic placing 18th in the 1500m at 4:25.74 before coming back later to record a personal best 800m clocking of 2:04.16 to place 16th.
Barton heads to Lubbock, Texas, Friday for its next meet, competing in the two-day Masked Rider Open hosted by Texas Tech University.
