The Barton Community College men's track and field team survived a competitive field to bring home more hardware by finishing national runner-up at the 2022 NJCAA Indoor National Championships held at the Plaster Center on the campus of Pitt State University.

Earning the second place trophy for the fourth time in the past five years, Barton compiled 62 points to outdistance Iowa Western's 51 points in winning the battle for second. South Plains captured the title with 140 points.

Barton added another individual title, a pair of additional runner-up placings, and a pair of program all-time list impacts among its five season or personal best performances.

Daylin Williams became Barton's second national champion of the two-day meet, clocking a program 5th best 7.80 60m hurdle time to earn the gold. The title joined Shakwon Coke's long jump crown earned on Friday.

Coke added a national runner-up on Saturday, marking a season best 15.53m on his last jump to take over the lead. Sitting in second throughout the previous five rounds, Coke's title hopes didn't last long as Iowa Central's Roman Kuleshov regained his lead on the final jump with a 15.72m mark. Anthony Woods gave the Cougars an additional four points in the event by posting a personal best 14.77m splash in the sand for 5th place overall.

Also earning the silver, Elijah Mosley recorded the program's 8th best 400m time in clocking a 47.06.

Mosley was also a part of the season best performance from the 4x400m relay team, anchoring the trio of Almond Small, Telron Bradford Jr., and Jye Gillard to place 4th overall in a time of 3:11.08.
