Barton's Edgerton and Da Silva earn post-season indoor honors; Cougars accumulate 33 All-America awards #GoBarton

Barton Track and Field indoor post-season awards

The Barton Community College track and field program picked up a pair of post-season awards distributed by Region VI and the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Named the National Men's Assistant Coach of the Year following the 2020 indoor season, Edgerton picked up the Region VI women's award this season following the squad's runner-up finish. Edgerton's athletes won captured four individual regional championships in scoring amongst their eighteen scoring performances in accumulating 84 of the Cougars' 113 points over the two-day event.

Barton Track and Field athlete Ana Da Silva with KJCCC/Region VI Commissioner Carl Heinrich Ana da Silva not only earned the Region VI award but added the USTFCCCA Central Region Women's Field Athlete of the Year to conclude her indoor season. Ranking first nationally in the shot put (16.10m/52-10), Da Silva also ranked third nationally in the weight throw (18.22m/59-9½). Sweeping the throws events at the NJCAA Region VI Indoor Championships, Da Silva is ranked top-5 in NJCAA history in the shot put.

The Cougars compiled thirty-three USTFCCCA All-America awards by virtue of finishing among the top-8 in their events, including as a member of a relay team, at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Indoor Track & Field Championships.

The Barton women accumulated seventeen All-America performances at the indoor Nationals, Ashley and Robinson leading with three awards as two others achieving multiple event honors.

Jada Sewell: Shot Put (5th)

All-Americans (Men)
On the men's side, the Cougars totaled sixteen All-America award performances led by multiple event earners Boger, Coke, Felix, Hale, Moudani, and O'Bryant.
