Terence Ware of the top ranked Barton Community College men's track and field team was named the NJCAA Division I National Athlete of the Week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The sophomore from St. Petersburg, Florida, opened up his season in Nebraska with a personal best 6.70 but reset his 60m time this past weekend speeding past Division I talent for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Collegiate Invitational title with a 6.63 second clocking to tie the third best time in school history. Adjusted to 6.65 with the altitude conversion, Ware's time was also the third fastest across the nation being bettered by only Andre Ewers of Florida State and Tre James of Southern Utah.
