Stewart and Hamlin earn week two indoor track conference honors #GoBarton

Latoya Stewart and Dartez Hamlin of the nationally ranked Barton Community College track and field team were named week two KJCCC Kansas MTXE Indoor Track Athletes of the Week. The pair earns the Cougars their second straight week of awards as Amanda Carty, Keosha Sanders, and Kevin Nedrick were named in the first week of competition.

This past weekend at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Collegiate Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Stewart clocked a NJCAA best 400m of 55.97 as the Texas State University finished 9th overall in the highly competitive meet.

Hamlin also sits atop the 2018 NJCAA list, winning his second straight 200m title by resetting his personal best by .42 seconds as the El Paso, Texas, native's 21.32 clocking won by .08 seconds over New Mexico's Carlos Salcido.

The Cougars next head to Iowa City, Iowa, for the Black and Gold Premier hosted by the University of Iowa.
