The Barton Community College track and field program has added Mark'Quis Frazier to its coaching staff as approved by the College's Board of Trustees.

"We are very excited to welcome Mark'Quis back to Barton, this time as a part of our coaching staff," said Head Coach David Schenek. "Mark'Quis' experience at the NJCAA, NCAA, and professional levels of track and field will not only prove valuable to our athlete's training and career, but complement our staff and further develop our program immensely!" 

Frazier competed for the Cougars from 2009-2011, helping Barton to the program's 50th National Championship during his freshman season before battling through injuries to win the 2011 NJCAA Outdoor 200m title in a 20.38 time which was third best in all national collegiate levels.  Frazier was also a member of Barton's top ranked 4x100m relay team but a false start prevented them from retaining their top spot.

Returning to Texas after Barton, Frazier attended the University of Houston in becoming a national qualifier in the 100m, 4x400m relay, and a member of the 2012 Conference USA outdoor championship team.

Transferring to Baylor University for his senior season, Frazier added another All-American honor to his competitive bio as a member of the 4x100m relay squad.

After completing his collegiate eligibility, Frazier completed his Bachelor of Education degree in the summer of 2014 while also competing as a professional athlete for three years.  During his professional career Frazier was a member of the 2014 Nigerian world relay team, the 2015 Commonwealth team, the 2016 Penn Relays team, amongst many other teams and performances.

Joining the coaching ranks at NJCAA member Iowa Central Community College for the 2016-17 season, Frazier helped the Tritons to the men's indoor championship title and a women's runner-up finish.  Frazier's athletes qualified five for the indoor championships earning two All-American performances and a 60m indoor champion before qualify three in the outdoor season helping to coach the 4x100m relay team to a school and regional meet record 40.26 clocking.

A native of Dallas, Texas, Frazier ran for Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Texas, where he was the 2008 and 2009 district, regional, and state champion, set the 100m school record, and was a member of the 2009 4x100m relay USA Junior Olympic championship tandem.
