Cougars with another strong showing, earn fourteen personal bests in Texas

The Barton Community College men's track and field team had another solid outing this past weekend in Canyon, Texas, chalking up fourteen personal bests in the West Texas A&M University Classic & Multi event.  Adding three first place finishes, The Cougars captured three individual titles amongst their twenty-two top-ten finishes to go along with twelve national qualifying level performances and a school history top-three effort of all-time.

Donald Daley, who set the school record in the hammer throw just a week prior, continued his high performance in the spring throwing a school third best distance of 57.13m (187-05) to capture the meet.  Ricky Nelson took fourth also exceeding the national qualifying mark with a personal best throw of 49.66m (162-11) while Tyler Patterson grabbed the seventh slot with a personal best 43.43m (142-06).

The Cougars also took first place in the 100m as Barton went 1-2 behind McKinely West's 10.50 clocking edging out the 10.55 timed by Chedlin Sagesse.   Sagesse would also take second in the 200m just ahead of teammate Paul Kinney as the duo recorded personal best and national qualifying 21.00 and 21.12 times respectively.
