Cougar men’s track and field post season best performances at Nebraska Invitational

Looking to end the 2014 season on a high note, multiple members of the Barton Community College men's team had season best performances competing this past Saturday at the Nebraska Invitational held in Lincoln, Nebraska.  

Sophomore David Winters ended his Barton career with a national qualifying standard 20.89 to capture first place in the 200m as seven Cougars competed in the event.  Freshman Shadrack Adu-Gyamfi also met national standards breaking the line at 21.37 to earn third place.  Freshman Quick Stukes led two other Cougars in the top ten finishing seventh in 21.79 while fellow freshman Jaiden Brown was ninth in 22.17 with sophomore Cougar Soccer All-American Ebu Camara just .02 behind to finish tenth at 22.19.  Courtland Robinson finished his Barton career with an eleventh place finish in 22.80 while freshman Kennedy Mayweather was fourteenth in 23.24.  

Also capturing a first place was Sampson Laari running a 1:51.15 to win the 800m.  Fellow freshman Brady Holler turned in a season best performance crossing the line in 2:04.24 to finish thirteenth.

The Cougars stacked the 400m as well with Adu-Gyamfi leading the pack with a third place national standard time of 48.05.  Also meeting the national standard and recording a season best time was Stukes in 48.49 for fourth place while Winters took fifth in 49.22 in his first and only time to run the 400m.  Camara placed seventh in 49.66 with sophomore Jamal Henson coming in at 51.14 to finish ninth.

Brown led three entries in the 100m taking third in 10.95 with sophomore Christian Black in fourth at 11.03 and Robinson finishing seventh in 11.42.

Tyler Jordan wrapped up his freshman season with a season best 36.15m to take eleventh in the Discus while fellow freshman Alireza Rafiei finishing fifth in the Shot Put at 15.03m.
