The Barton Community College men's team swept its spring season opening weekend in Texas with two of its three victories coming against ranked opponents as the 12th ranked Cougars competed in the Collin College Super Six held in the Plano metro.

Taking two of the three doubles action in Friday's first match against No 16 New Mexico Military Institute, the Cougars won 4-2 in singles play to come out on top 6-3 in the dual. Matched up with the University of the Southwest in the afternoon, Barton's sweep of doubles play set the stage in rolling to a 9-0 victory.

Saturday morning's match was more of the same, Barton jumping on top of 13th ranked Jacksonville College after the tandems before additionally sweeping the singles to chalk up its second straight 9-0 victory.

The men will join up with their women counterparts for the next meet on the schedule as the teams head to McPherson College on Saturday, March 2, for a 2:00 p.m. first serve.
