No. 21 ranked Barton men's tennis season ends at regionals

The Barton Community College men's tennis team had their season come to an end this past weekend finishing fourth at the Region VI Tennis Championships held in Liberal, Kansas.  Needing to finish in third, the No. 21 Cougars could never find their stroke in the second day of competition earning just win in nine matches.  

Barton's lone victory came in the No. 2 doubles third place match as the duo of Luis Soares and Ray Strunk won a tough first set 7-5 before putting away the Hesston College tandem of Caleb Schrock-Hurst and Andry Stutzman 6-2 in the second set.

Barton finished with the lone .5 points while Hesston took the third placing with four points.   Host and No. 6 nationally ranked Seward County Community College won the region championship edging out No. 5 ranked Cowley College 14-13.
