The No. 25 ranked Barton County Community College men's tennis team traveled to Liberal Tuesday opening up conference play getting shut out 9-0 at the hands of No. 4 ranked Seward County Community College.  The Cougars were simply manhandled in the dual winning just thirteen games falling to 0-4 on the season while Seward County stays unbeaten at 11-0.

The No. 1 doubles tandem of Lucas Castelani and Sam Barker were searching for their first victory of the season but were no match for Carlos Anez and Ondrej Nice losing 8-2.  It would be the most games the Cougars could get in the doubles matches as Luis Soares and Ray Strunk fell 8-1 in the No. 2 match while Triston Herbst and Benjamin Zamora were blanked in the No. 3.

The Cougars were dominated in singles play managing to pull out only ten games taking on the Saints featuring three players in the national rankings.  Getting five of the ten came in the No. 6 match as Zamora, a late addition for the trip, battled the Saints' Zach Suico before falling 6-2, 6-3.

Barton's next match will also be a conference dual as the Cougars will travel to Hesston on Tuesday taking on No. 7 ranked Cowley College in a 10:30 a.m. first serve.
