The Barton Community College men's tennis team concluded the 2014 season Thursday in Plano, Texas, as the Cougars wrapped up play at the NJCAA Division I National Tennis Championship.  Three Cougars competed on the fourth day of competition helping Barton to its highest national placing since 2009 to finish 12th in the nation out of twenty-seven teams.

Sophomore Jeret Johnson's run in the No. 3 Singles consolation bracket play came to an end on Thursday dropping an 8-1 Semifinal defeat to Jake McDonough of Marion Military Institute.

The freshmen No. 3 Doubles duo of Austin Jacobs and Chase Buntain began the day in the Semifinal round of the consolation bracket winning 8-5 over fellow Jayhawk member Johnson County Community College's tandem of Jeffrey Stevens and Jose Torres.  The Cougars then withdrew from the consolation finals to Seminole State College's Aramis Azucey and Alex Clerihew who rolled to the finals having lost only one game after falling to Cowley College in the tournament's first round.
