Depth was the big story Tuesday at Great Bend's Veteran's Memorial Park tennis courts, as the Barton Community College men's tennis team won 2-of-3 in the top two matches but fell to the depth of No. 9 ranked Cowley College 7-2.  The Cougars outscored the Tigers 29-18 in the top doubles and top two singles matches but Cowley got the better of the Cougars in the remaining matches 64-13.   The loss drops Barton to 4-5 on the season heading into Thursday's 1:00 p.m. regular season finale at Johnson County Community College.

The No. 1 Doubles combo of Vinicius Ono and Alvaro Martinez dominated the Tigers' Harry Busby and Erik Eldagson in an 8-3 victory to capture the lone doubles victory.  Carrying the momentum from the doubles win, Martinez picked up the lone singles win by dominating the No. 2 match pulling the upset of the nation's No. 19 ranked Eldagson 6-1, 6-2.  Despite battling an injury, Ono nearly pulled an upset of his own in the No. 1 singles match but the No. 9 ranked Busby was too much in defeating Ono 7-5 and 6-4.
