After posting 1-1 record at the NJCAA Tournament, the season came to a close to eventual National Champions Salt Lake City 3-1 in group play concluding the season at 13-3-1 overall while finishing runner-up in the KJCCC West at 7-2-1.

On the pitch six Cougars received all-conference awards, to go along with, a pair of NJCAA All-American’s. Sophomores Felipe D’Agostini and Gabrielle Privitera became the sixth duo in the program history and the second pair to land such honors in the past three seasons. D’Agostini earned first team honors with Privitera landing on the second team in becoming the 20th and 21st national selections for Barton in the 20 years of competition. D’Agostini added KJCCC All-West Player of the Year to his steller season with Privitera, Ivan Zuniga, Manaka Sato and Yuki Nishigaki joining him with first-team selections while David Lopez rounded the honors with a second-team selection.

In the classroom, Rideout’s squad compiled a 3.51 GPA placing fourth nationally out of 37 teams and finishing second out of six teams in the Region VI. Twelve individuals landed on the NJCAA academic honors, two members achieved a first team perfect 4.0 including Cedric Morales a repeat first team winner with seven landed on second-team and a trio landing on third team.

In his first season at the helm, Rideout directed the Cougars to its 10th KJCCC West crown posting a winning 8-2 conference mark completing the season at 11-3-1 overall. Rideout directed the Cougars into the national polls just two weeks into the season, soaring into the top ten two weeks later, reaching as high as 5th, before finishing the year ranked 14th in the final Division I poll.

Academically Rideout’s Cougars compiled a 3.34 GPA, placing 15th in the NJCAA and fourth best in Region VI.  Seven individuals earned NJCAA academic honors, two members attaining a first team 4.0 perfect GPA with two landing on the second team and three on the third team.

The Jayhawk West Champions trailed just 41 out of the 1370 minutes played (2.9%) over the course of the 2019 campaign. Rideout’s squad ranked second best defense in the nation. Barton surrendered just seven goals on the year, five coming in two of their 15 games, as the defense kept the opponent scoreless for 929:01 minutes of action in recording a program all-time best nine consecutive shutouts.

Arriving to Barton following a single season at Region VI foe Northwest Kansas Technical College, Rideout’s Mavericks finished sixth in the conference standings at 2-8-2 and 2-10-2 on the season with six of the losses by a lone goal including an overtime loss and another late loss coming with 3:30 left on the clock to his now inherited Cougars.

Rideout took over the NW Tech job after serving as assistant coach at NCAA Division II Chaminade University following time as an assistant for his father coaching both the U15 (’03) and U16 (’02) RSL Arizona Boys teams.

A product of Sporting Kansas City Youth Academy, Rideout excelled as a player during his two seasons in the USSF Development Academy League scoring 34 goals in 46 games in leading the Midwest conference.  Named a future homegrown player for SKC, Rideout trained and played games with the first team, scoring the first ever goal from an academy player in a 3-1 friendly victory.

Rideout played three and a half seasons at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), scoring 27 collegiate goals before injury cut down his senior campaign in 2014.   Rideout earned numerous accolades during his collegiate career including 2011 Conference Rookie of the Year, three-time 1st Team All-Conference selection (2011, 2012, 2013), 2nd Team All-Region (2012), four-time Player of the Week award winner, a three-time Conference Offensive Player of the Year recipient, and was awarded the 2013 Circle of Champions Award for Best Male Athlete.

Following recovery from his injury, Rideout was invited to train with the Phoenix Rising of the USL prior to signing his first professional contract in 2015.   Moving on to the Oklahoma City Energy for the 2016 season, Rideout went on to score a couple of memorable goals, including the go-ahead goal in the US Open Cup against MLS powerhouse FC Dallas.   Rideout’s career again was cut short as a 2017 preseason injury would end playing time on the pitch.

Born in Southport, England, Rideout has spent his entire life around the game with roots from his father Paul who played 22 professional seasons including time with the Kansas City Wizards.
