The 6th ranked Barton Community College men's soccer team scored a big road win Wednesday evening defeating 10th ranked Cowley College 2-1 in Arkansas City.

Sweeping the regular season series for the first time in the 20 meetings, the Cougars control their own fate towards the Jayhawk Conference title moving to 7-1-2 in league play and 12-1-3 overall while the loss hands the Tigers their third straight defeat falling to 7-4-0 in conference and 11-4-0 on the season.

Barton will return home for the final two regular season games beginning Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. kickoff against Garden City Community College before hosting first year program Seward County Community College on Monday.

Leading goal scorer Lucas Constante drew the game's first marker just 3:52 into the contest as the forward delivered far post after holding off a Cowley defender following Loic Kanku's team leading sixth setup of the season generated off a cross.

Constante gifted Barton a 2-0 advantage with his second of the game just 8:58 before halftime, canning his third game winning goal of the year blasting Augusto Militao's rebound crossbar shot into the twine for his 11th lamp lighter of the season and 16th of the sophomore's career.

Aggressive play by the Tigers in the final 45-minutes would lead to the lone Cowley goal with 30:36 to play as Dennis Bottcher denied the first shot attempted faced before Sora Funakoshi cleaned up the rebound winning the 1v1 situation slicing the lead in half.

Bottcher and the Cougar defense tightened up over the final 30-minutes limiting the Tigers to just three shot attempts and none generated on frame to preserve the 2-1 victory.

Improving to 10-1-3 in net, Bottcher denied two of the three shots faced in his 90-minutes of action.
