6th ranked Barton men's soccer settles for 2-2 draw to Coffeyville #GoBarton

Holding a late lead, the 6th ranked Barton Community College men's soccer team was forced to settle for a 2-2 draw against Coffeyville Community College Wednesday afternoon at the Cougar Soccer Complex.

The result drops the Cougars to second in the conference at 6-0-2 and 9-0-2 overall while the Red Ravens move to 2-4-1 in league play and 6-4-3 on the season.

Barton now embarks on its longest road trip of the season. The Cougars will open the four-game trip with a non-conference matchup Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. against Northeastern Junior College before returning to conference play next Wednesday at Kansas City Kansas Community College.

Trailing 1-0 at the midway point of the second half, leading goal scorer Lucas Constante supplied the equalizer for his seventh net shaker of the year, striking a loose ball near post from just outside the 6' for his seventh net shaker of the year.

11:34 ensuing Henrique Cruz produced his first collegiate goal supplying Barton a 2-1 lead sending a laser strike far post from 12-yards out fashioned off an uncleared corner kick.

The eventual tying goal by the Red Ravens came with 5:09 remaining on a well-executed corner kick sent in by Manuel Nunez finding the head of Daisuke Shinko backside.
