The 7th ranked Barton Community College men's soccer team shook off a sluggish start Wednesday afternoon at the Cougar Soccer Complex for a pair of unanswered goals to win 2-1 over Dodge City Community College.

Barton's fourth straight win improves the Cougars to 6-0-1 in conference play and 9-0-2 overall as Dodge City slips to 3-3-1 in league play and 6-3-1 on the season.

The Cougars have a week off from competition before hosting Coffeyville Community College next Wednesday in a 1:00 p.m. kick.

The Conquistadors' lone goal came seven minutes into the contest on an executed counter attack with Crescenzo Christian's 19-yard strike banging off the far post before ending up on the near side of the goal to put away Justin Gomes' through ball.

Dodge City outplayed an out-of-sync Barton squad including a four-shot differential but the Cougars played a more in tune second half play in turning the tides.

Despite the improved second half play, it took the Cougars over twenty-three minutes to produce the equalizer with the go-ahead final tally at 11:30 remaining.

Reigning conference and national player of the week Lucas Constante netted the equalizer for his team leading 6th net shaker of the year, striking far post from the right wing to chalk up Arthur Prado's first assist of the year.

A Dodge City penalty helped set up the game winner as Maxence Voinier's attack attempt was taken down in the box. Nicolas Galanis toed the line to deliver the game winner for his 5th goal of the season.
