Barton's Constante named Week Six conference and national Offensive Player of the Week #GoBarton

Lucas Constante of the 7th ranked Barton Community College men's soccer team has been tabbed the week six KJCCC and NJCAA Division I Player of the Week.

Constante had a solid offensive week for the Cougars finding the back of the net three times in leading the Cougars to a pair of road victories.

Held scoreless in Wednesday's 2-0 road win at Garden City and tied 1-1 Saturday at Seward County, Constante sparked the Cougar offense producing a six-point performance off the bench helping Barton to a 4-3 victory.

Constante delivered his first collegiate hat trick rattling the twine with three unanswered goals in a span of 19:13 building up a 4-1 Cougar advantage. The sophomore's third marker of the contest would secure Barton's 4-3 victory to notch the forward's second game winner of the year and third of his career.

Victors of three straight, Barton stands at 8-0-2 overall and finish the first swing through the KJCCC with a league best 5-0-1 mark.

The Cougars open the second round through the Jayhawk on this afternoon hosting Dodge City Community College in a 1:00 p.m. kickoff at the Cougar Soccer Field.

The award is Constante's first of the season and second in his two-year career. The sophomore is the fifth different Cougar to claim a weekly conference honor joining Kimito Fritz, Nicolas Galanis, Maxence Voinier and three-time goalkeeper of the week Dennis Bottcher.
