Barton Men's Soccer sweeps KJCCC weekly awards for third time this year #GoBarton

For the third time this season the 7th ranked Barton Community College men's soccer team swept the KJCCC Division I Player of the Week awards, as freshman forward Maxence Voinier and netminder Dennis Bottcher were rewarded for their week five performances.

The duo helped the Cougars to a perfect week knocking off unbeaten 3rd ranked Cowley College 3-1 this past Saturday afternoon from the Cougar Soccer Complex.

Claiming his first recognition of the season, Voinier posted a career high week. The freshman braced the Cougars out to a 2-0 halftime lead. Supplying the offense fast and early, Voinier struck the back of the net just 1:20 into the contest for the first of his two net finders. Pressing the Tiger defense all opening half, a forced created turnover by the forward 17:11 ensuing created his second net rattler and eventual game winner.

Securing his third distinction of the year, Bottcher was near perfect in the victory denying four of the five faced shots. The sophomore made three key denials over the final 45-minutes with the lone goal sneaking past Bottcher's knock down penalty shot faced trickling past the goal line. The sophomore currently sits at 4-0-2 in net for the Cougars.

Barton will begin a two-game road trip with a 6:00 p.m. kickoff at Garden City Community College followed by a Saturday 3:00 p.m. kick at Seward County Community College.
