It wasn't the result the 11th ranked Barton Community College men's team was looking for Saturday afternoon as multiple chances missed its mark in settling for a 1-1 draw hosting Kansas City Kansas Community College.

The Cougars outshot the Blue Devils 14-5 in the contest, 5-1 on frame with multiple chances especially in the second half of either missing its mark or just out of reach from becoming the go-ahead score.

The result leaves Barton to 2-0-1 in conference play and 5-0-2 on the year while KCK moves to 1-2-1 in league and 2-2-1 overall.

Barton will have the week to prepare for its next contest coming Saturday in hosting No. 3 ranked Cowley College in a 1:00 p.m. kick-off.

Nicolas Galanis scored the lone goal for the Cougars in shaping a 20-yard free kick inside the near post ten minutes before halftime beyond the reach of the diving Blue Devil goalkeeper Axel Tonietto for his team leading fourth net shaker of the year.

The lead stood until just under fifteen minutes had expired into second half play as the corner kick from Jacob Thomas was met mid-air on the back side of the box by Zak Hiles' header to register the equalizer.

The Cougars created multiple chances for the go-ahead score behind its 12-3 shot advantage, forcing Tonietto into four saves with a handful of other opportunities from quality crosses and shots coming up empty.

Dennis Bottcher moved to 4-0-2 in goal, benefitting from a stiff defensive line allowing just the one KCK goal to reach the pipes.
