Quick second half goals lift 11th ranked Barton men’s soccer to 2-0 victory at Lamar #GoBarton

Playing for the third time in five days, the 11th ranked Barton Community College men's soccer team produced a pair of second half goals in a span of 2:38 Tuesday afternoon earning a 2-0 road victory over Lamar Community College.

The victory moves the Cougars to 5-0-1 on the season while the Lopes remain searching for their first win dipping to 0-6-0 overall.

Coming up empty after firing 11 shots through the opening 45-minutes, Barton would need just 7:20 before getting on the board with Nicolas Galanis breaking the scoreless affair rattling the nets for the third time this season off Loic Kanku's setup pass.

Just 2:38 later, Kanku would be on the receiving end tacking on an insurance goal for his first lamp lighter of the year striking home Henrique Cruz' third aided pass of the season.

Making his first collegiate start in net Ayden Thompson defended the pipes for the opening 72-minutes to notch his first victory while Victor Chavez helped seal the clean sheet guarding the net for the final 18 minutes.

Barton will return to conference play Saturday welcoming the Blue Devils of Kansas City Kansas Community College in a 1:00 p.m. kickoff from the Cougar Soccer Complex.
