Barton Men’s Soccer picked second in KJCCC West Poll #GoBarton

Barton Men's Soccer Pre-Season Prediction

The Barton Community College men's soccer team has been predicted to finish second in the Jayhawk West for the 2022-23 season according to the league member coaches' voting.

Finishing third in the West last season, the Cougars had their year come to an end in the opening round of the Region VI/Plains District Playoffs to conclude the campaign at 8-8-0 overall.

Entering his first season at the helm, Head Coach Rafael Simmons brings 11 members back from last year's squad who saw considerable pitch time including reigning first-team all KJCCC West/Region VI selection Victor Lucca.

Defending KJCCC West and Region VI/Plains District champions Cowley College has been tabbed the conference favorite with Dodge City and Garden City sitting behind the Cougars.

Barton will open the new season at the friendly confines of the Cougar Soccer Complex on Friday, August 19, against Northeastern Junior College and Saturday, August 20, versus Lamar Community College. Concluding a two-game road trip in Iowa, the Cougars will open KJCCC play August 31, hosting Garden City Community College.
