Barton Men's Soccer result at Garden City

It took 73-minutes but the Barton Community College men's soccer team rode a pair of second half goals in a span of 9:22, picking up a hard fought 2-1 road victory over Garden City Community College Wednesday evening at the Broncbuster Stadium.

The victory moves the Cougars to 3-2-0 in KJCCC play and 6-4-0 overall while the Broncbusters see their two-match winning streak snapped falling to 1-3-1 in the Jayhawk and 6-3-1 on the season. Barton will ride its' two-game winning streak into Saturday's 4:00 p.m. road contest against Kansas City Kansas Community College.

Sophomore Ricardo Sepulveda made both his defensive and offensive presents known in the 73-minute forcing a Broncbuster turnover at midfield leading to a 45-yard strike just seconds later shaking the nets for the first time of the season putting Barton in front 1-0. The leading catalyst for Barton found the back of the nets for the second time just nine minutes later heading home the eventual game winner coming off Arthur Seelig-Orth's short corner kick sent in by Hidetaka Nakao.

Looking to have things all but wrapped up a late handball called against Barton inside the box with 5:57 left made things interesting as Broncbuster Cian Carty converted on the penalty strike pulling Garden City to within one.

Goalkeeper Dante Curin and the Barton defensive back line tightened up holding Garden City shotless over the final six minutes.
